South West Rehabilitation is owned and run by Christopher Butterworth (BSc Hons. O.T).

Chris works both for the NHS and as a private practitioner and has many years experience in helping disabled individuals with a variety of physical, sensory and cognitive impairments to achieve a greater level of independence in their lives.

He has a special interest in assistive technology and it's benefits for disabled individuals from working closely with Possum equipment and other environmental control systems during his time in the NHS. He has worked in a number of clinical areas specialising in Acute Neurology and Neurological Rehabilitation commonly encountering individuals with Stroke, Brain Injury, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Syndrome and many more.

Furthermore, Chris is a Practice Placement Educator for undergraduate students from the University of Plymouth and has lectured on assistive technology at a professional study day for the MS Society in addition to regularly keeping up to date with professional development through attending courses and is commited to personal and professional development.

Due to working both in private practice and for the NHS in Devon I am committed to ensuring that conflict of interest issues are avoided. Our assurance to you is that we will not accept a case if this is found to be a potential issue.

Chris is registered to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Professions Council as required by law (HPC No: OT51637)
